A Poem for Dry Season
- a poem for dry season -
Have you been to Africa during dry season?
Red dirt.
Brown dirt.
Pink dirt.
Orange Dirt.
Dirt. Dirt. Dirt.
All the dirt covers all the things.
Dirt on dishes.
Dirt on dresses.
Dirt on streets.
Dirt on feet.
Dirt in the air.
Dirt in your hair.
Sticky, dusty dirt is everywhere.

Dry Season Weather Report: a chance of dirt and dust with hot temperatures all day, every day.
You are either constantly cleaning or you just learn to live with it and brush off the table at dinner time.
Pro Tip: store your dishes upside down to avoid dirt on the inside of them. This valiant effort to keep dirt out of the inside of dishes may end in vain, but at least you tried.
*** recently I have been told that this 2026 Ugandan dry season has been less dry and more rainy. And plus this photo and the thoughts are from last year. ***
