Week 4

This blog has been much quieter than I expected. I think I basically slept the first week we were here and spent the second week trying to wake up in and out of taking naps! The third week was working on adjusting to new surroundings and it was the last week of school for House of Hope (HOH). Today is the start of the 4th week, although it seems like we have been here much longer.

We haven't really settled into a routine, with the exception of each Monday and Wednesday, the girls join with the other older kids who are in homeschool with Hannah, their teacher, at 1:30 for a few hours for a few subjects. Life is definitely better with routine and structure, but we all learned that, after adopting children, that I am probably the least structured mom on the planet, which really isn't a good thing.

I didn't realize that it would take so long to let your body and mind adjust to being here. It's totally different than coming to a one or two week mission trip. Usually with those type of mission trips, you hit the ground running, there are projects set up, places to help, something to prepare for during the week. This time we have spent the better part of 3 weeks just feeling like we were just existing.

I know this is what you have been waiting for....a tour of the school.
So grab your backpack and come on!

This is the end of our tour. I hope you enjoyed it.  I'll see about putting some more cute faces on here for the next post!

Happy December 2nd, when it feels like July! ;)  Ok, actually, the weather is not that hot. It's actually pretty nice, outside anyways. At night or even during the day inside, if the power goes out and then it is HOT! Either way, it does not seem like Christmas to me at all! Maybe I should stream a Hallmark movie!
