Day 25 - posted on Day 26
I am so excited, I can hardly stand it!
Organization!
Did I just let you down? It's not what you were thinking was it. I know you thought I might be annoucing a trip to Disney World or a second honeymoon to Hawaii. Well organization is like a deep breath of fresh mountain air in my world. I told Brent I thought the house was almost arranged to the point that I wouldn't re-arrange again. At least for 6 months.
At my house we are constantly on the move. Not just the people, the furniture too.
I am constanly trying to figure out how to better organize and arrange our house so that it's easily accessable, usable, and cleanable. It drives me nuts! I really don't know why we can't have The Container Store around here. Don't people know what that store can do for you? They have one in Texas. I decided the Hallelujah chorus should be played when you walk through the doors.
The kid's toys have been upstairs, downstairs, outside, and inside. I've probably moved the girl's beds at least 20 times. The bookshelf has been in five different rooms and the bistro table is now on it's third room.
Superwoman feat last month: moved the china cabinet and a wooden hutch by myself. They swapped places and rooms. It was the kind of feat where you do a happy dance at the end and promise yourself not to tell your husband what powers you used to accomplish the ask without him. Superwoman powers are to kept secret.
My next task is the laundry/craft room. The craft room paraphernalia has spilled over into our room. It has taken over the bistro table and has been shoved into empty dresser drawers.
Now you can see why we need organization! Either that or I am going to have to become a minimalist and that's probably not giong to happen.
My mom is the fabulous woman who came to help me start all the jazz this weekend. I tried to convinence her to stay a few more days to help finish the job. I even put Elizabeth up to the job, but Grandma held her ground.
With all the flurry of organizing, I forgot to look at the Joy Dare this morning.
Today's gifts (February 25) were to be a gift worn-out, a gift new, and a gift made do.
Looking back over today, here are the winners!
A gift worn out - my mom! Not that she is worn out, but we didn't sit a lot during the weekend.
A gift new - storage boxes. (from Wal-Mart. Not The Container Store)
A gift made do - room space
So there you have it. Organiztion and the Joy Dare.
