Weekend Roll Call

First of all, I would like to start out by saying that I much prefer the original Parent Trap movie with Hayley Mills than the newer version with Miss Lohan.

Second, SAMS Club makes the BEST chocolate cake ever. It's even better than Cracker Barrel's coca cola cake.

We hit the pavement Friday headed back to my mom's for Destin's 6th birthday party.  I can't believe he is SIX!  I remember the day he was born well, mainly because I was supposed to be there, but I wasn't.

He would not let me take his 6 year old pictures. Maybe in a few weeks!

Saturday we got up and headed out to Destin's basketball game. It's probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. If you have never watched 5 - 6 year old boys and girls run up and down a basketball court chasing a ball, while their coaches and parents are calling out all kinds of instructions to them, then you have missed it. They sort of look like teams of little, confused midgets, all running wherever the ball is rolling. The one thing they all have down pat is when they are to be on the other side of the court, they run as fast as their little legs will go, sprinting to the other side. It's wonderful.

I love this smile.

After the ballgame, we got back on the rode. My great-grandmother is turning 97. Can you imagine being 97! She's doing great too. My cousin, Tracy, says she is going to live to be 115.

There is a story behind the Noel. We usually wind up in a wrapping paper snowball fight after the grand Christmas Eve opening of presents at mamow's. One year my aunt (who shall remain nameless) broke the "L" in the glass Noel figurine set. Since then, it is set out as N O E.
It a great story. You had to be there.

Breanna became the unofficial present helper/card read for mamow. I was very proud of her. She was patient, kind, and gentle. She helped her inspect all the presents.

I loved being with my family this weekend. I can't wait for the holidays.

What did you do this weekend?
