Day 1 - 3 Gifts Heard

My three gifts heard:

1. My mom's voice. She helped me figure out our son's first ever major reading project. I'm pretty sure the directions were written on a doctoral level. He's in 5th grade. 

2. Our son's voice. Hearing his explanations of the book he finished reading for his project. He understood the book and remembered what he read. This is huge. He has only been in the States for 18 months.

3. Silence with a crackling fire.  Don't you love the sound of a fire on cold night? It makes me want to   cuddle up in a blanket with hot chocolate and good movie. It's calming and soothing.  Silence is as golden as the fire tonight. The kids are finally asleep. After a noisy, wild, laughter-filled day, the silence is welcoming and peaceful.
