Day 6 - One thing in your bag, your fridge, your heart
I decided that Sunday will be a no blog day.
Yesterday I didn't even look at the joys until church was over. That means you will get 2 posts in one day!
I won't keep you waiting! Here are my JoyDare gifts:
Gift #1 - in my bag. I have a small purse, so there isn't much to fit in there, but I did have my phone in there and got some text messages from my friend, Bashan.
Gift #2 - in my heart. Yesterday was a great service at out church. As our pastor was starting the invitation, I felt such a welcoming from the Lord in my heart. It was sweet and warm.
Gift #3 - in my fridge. I almost laughed at this one. Really? The fridge? Maybe if I opened the door and stared long enough something might jump out at me (literally!) and I could come up with a gift in my fridge. I knew my family would really think I was crazy if they saw just staring in the fridge, so I refrained.
It was nearing bedtime and I was already giving up the idea of finding something in the big, silver box.
Nevermind the fact that it never crossed my mind until today to just be thankful for the gift of have fridge with it overflowing with food that I just purchased a few days earlier. Yes, that is exactly how far I've fallen, I forgot to just be thankful for just the daily bread. I'm pretty sure it's the first thing you learn in Sunday School, to be thankful for your food. And that first prayer you learn? "God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food." Maybe I was sick that Sunday.
So now that you know my shame, on to my recipe.
I remembered where I saw it! The cheese bag!
I looked on the back on all 3 grated bags of cheese and there it was on the back of the Kraft Finely Shredded Cheddar Cheese, "Grilled BBQ Chicken Wraps" !
Betty Crocker will never be one of nicknames, so I am a little mystified that the words "zesty Italian" and "BBQ" are in the same recipe, but I expect the Kraft people to know what they are doing.
I laughed. There was the joy in a fridge! My found recipe! The joy all the food that we ever so blessed to receive every day without a single thought!
I guess you can find joy when you least expect it and where you least expect it.
I think that's the point.
Oh, I finally started the 2nd chapter of One Thousand Gifts. I'm slow.
