Day 4 - Old, New, and Blue

(Day 4 of the Joy Dare will be through-out this entire post, watch closely!)

Today I decided that I had enough of staying around the house and told the kids we were going to eat where they made the biggest hamburgers in the world - Red Robin. To celebrate, I pulled out the skinny jeans and my favorite flats. Ben loves hamburgers, so he was stoked.

We made it Red Robin - YUMMMM. Sorry, but you can't mention the restaurant without singing their catchy tune. The restaurant was a success. The kids really enjoyed it. Ben loved his hamburger.

Red Robin is part of an outdoor mall. There are fountains, statues, and the Christmas decorations were still up. So we spend the afternoon exploring and walking.

1. The Blue Gift - wishes in the blue water fountains

Here are the basic essentials for making a wish:
Being in or around a fountain
One must select his wish very carefully
You must close your eyes
Lastly, throw your "wish coin" like your wish depends on it!

After the fountains we checked out the "reindeer".

The next pictures are just some posed and not posed photos of the day while we were "sight-seeing" There was dancing, laughing, singing, window shopping, a game of hopscotch, and statue hugging to be done!

2. The New Gift - honestly I counted the whole day as the new gift. None of the kids had ever eaten at Red Robin. Ben and Breanna had never been to the outdoor mall. So it was all new to them, but the whole day was a gift to me because they behaved so well, it was fun for everyone, and I took them by myself!

 Favorite Foto Friday

Ben is sporting his new hunting gear
He really is in there somewhere!
"dancing" on the sidewalk - all the kids danced down the sidewalks,
but this was the only pic I got because I was joining in on the fun
Ben being a statue

Elizabeth Kate being a statue, next to a statue

Window shopping at Build-A-Bear. No we did not go in.
I knew we would never leave if we even stepped a toe inside

After "sight-seeing", we headed over to Barnes and Noble to warm up and chill out.
Book reading and book buying were on the agenda. Unfortunately, Ben did not find anything, but Breanna and Elizabeth Kate made it out with one book each. Elizabeth of course made her selection based on how many stickers the book offered!

Of course with day like this you cannot leave without dessert! Cookies and icees hit the spot!

I love Ben's face here

3. The Old Gift - my old gift would have to be Brent. He's not that old. But he came home from Passion today. After being gone for four days, we are all really glad to have him home!

Today's post is long. But finding the Joy Dare today was like a scavenger hunt. It was fun. Trying to decide which moment was the best and trying to find joy in everywhere we went.

Happy Friday!
